ASAHI Chemical requests each and everyone of its directors and employees to adhere to the following rules and has handed a manual that outlines these compliances rules in detail as well as leading distinctive laws, regulations and company policies.

When engaging in business activities you shall verify business laws, obtain necessary permits and licenses and fully comprehend their content so as to ensure compliance to each and every business law.

You shall adequately manufacture, store, sell, transport and otherwise use potentially dangerous substances to prevent accidents and disasters. In the event of an accident, you shall promptly take the necessary containment steps for to ensure safety. Furthermore, you shall operate facilities that handle substances considered to be safe, such as air or steam, according to the manner outlined in their design specifications.

Global Security and Trade Controls

In the spirit of assuming your responsibility in the keeping of international peace and security, you shall abide by the laws concerning the export of goods and technology related to the manufacturing and use of such arms of mass destructions as nuclear arms and biochemical weapons, as well as conventional arms.

You shall comply with all trade laws, international regulations etc. and carry out appropriate import-export procedures.

You shall abide by antimonopoly laws, subcontracting laws, international competition laws. You shall not engage in monopolistic behavior, improper restriction of trade or unfair trading.

Prohibition of unfair competition

You must neither illegally use the trade secrets of other companies, nor carry out sales activities that may degrade the reputation of other companies. You must not use trade or business descriptions of others without obtaining approval, or manufacture and sell imitations of products made by others with the aim of letting consumers confuse our Company's products and business with those of other companies. In addition, your sales activities must not lead consumers to misunderstand the quality or origin of the products.

We shall respect the basic human rights of every person, and shall not engage in any behavior that may harm the dignity of individuals or in any discrimination or abusive behavior based on a person's position in the company, employment status, age, sex, origin, ancestry, nationality, race, religion, believes, marital status etc.

You shall not gather or use personal information regarding employees, customer, or employees of companies we are related to for purposes other than business. Furthermore, you shall be mindful of leakage of personal information to people other than those concerned.

Secret information such as company customer information, trade secrets and know-how are valuable company assets. You shall, therefore, take any necessary step to ensure the confidentiality of this information. Furthermore, you shall respect the confidentiality of information divulged by third parties and take the same confidentiality measures for such information as for Company secrets.

You shall record Company assets whether they are tangible or intangible and properly use and manage them.

Prohibition of conflict of interest

You shall not use your position in the Company or information acquired during the performance of your duties to harm the interests of the Company. Furthermore, you shall not engage in a behavior that may harm the interests of the Company without your consent or put yourself in such a position.

Prohibition to divert Company assets

You shall not use Company assets (tangible or intangible) for personal purposes.

Appropriate use of the computer systems

You shall not make illegal use of the computer systems.
