IBIT is an Acid Corrosion Inhibitor that uses inorganic acids, such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid, as well as organic acids, such as citric acid.
It prevents the corrosion of metals when added at the time of cleaning of steel products or equipment such as boilers. The IBIT series includes: IBIT for steel pickling and IBIT for the chemical cleaning of equipment.
IBIT® for acid cleaning is used to inhibit the corrosion of metal materials by cleaning the scale that is formed on heat exchangers used in power boilers, paper manufacturing, desalinating, alumina production using inorganic acids, such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, sulfamic acid or organic acids, such as citric acid and hydroxyacetic acid, thus preventing damage to the equipment.
IBIT® is used at pickling process that through soaking the metal in hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid remove a scale formed on metal surfaces during heat processing and heat treatment, as well as elimination of rust that appears during transportation.
IBIT® -Antirust agent- protects the whiteness and prevents steel products from becoming yellow to brown due to the rinsing process when the continuous pickling line moves at a slow pace or is stopped. The degree of color change depends on the kind of steel, the speed of the line and the pH of the rinse water. Therefore, the concentration of WH needs to be adapted to the operating conditions and spray conditions.
